Well we all have a love for this series in one way or another Wei, so we decided to make an easier way to talk about and share all that love. It's also pretty crazy how international this forum is too. Even though this forum is small we have people from all over the world here, and that's fantastic. Either way welcome to the forum, and I hope you enjoy your stay here as a part of it!

I will admit -- I have never once played a Yakuza game before, but I have been drawn to various videos depicting it, due to how quirky and entertaining they are.
I can enjoy all kinds of games, ,fighters, shooters, strategy games, visual novels, RPGs, you name it.
I'm charmed that you would actually take the time to put up a forum for a niche series from Japan, that, simply put, deserves more love.

Welcome. I appreciate you signing up, I hope you become more active on here!

This. It's pretty crazy/great to see how diverse the fanbase is for Yakuza.

Greetings from Italy! My name is Ciccio.
I'm not a big forum guy, and I'll probably not browse the boards too often, but I still wanted to register!

I started playing Ryuu ga Gotoku in october. I've been curious about this series since summer, but FB posts from a youtuber I follow asking to "support this underrated brand buying 0 or Kiwami", plus the fact that I had 40 bucks in my credit card, really pushed me to buy the latter of the two.
Now I'm here, 5 months later, having already finished all mainline games from 0 to 5 (exept Yakuza 3, which is unbelievably rare in my country).
I've been learning japanese language for some months, and I got to practice a little bit of it playing Yakuza 1 and 2 from the HD Collection (with the help of walkthrough videos for movie cutscenes).
These games really changed my life, in some aspects (for example, I started to go out home and appreciate little things, shops and eateries in my city more often). Also, it made me know some nice JAV actresses it made me learn a lot about Japan and japanese culture (obviously, in the very limited way a videogame can do... especially one about organized crime).

I'm a big fan of fighting games, overall. I play a lot of Tekken 7 and SFV, but I like 3D platformers too.
I like to read manga, and one of my favourites is Shonan Junai Gumi (prequel to GTO), based on japanese underground culture too (especially bōsōzoku/biker gangs).

This turned out to be longer than I tought, but it's very late, so I don't even know what I'm writing.

Welcome to the forum Ciccio! I am sure I speak for everyone when I say we appreciate you signing up to join the conversation! As for saying how a video game can change your perspective a lot, I agree! I actually am getting a sleeve tattoo because of the Yakuza series, it gave me a lot more perspective on the meaning of a tattoo and the one I am getting has a lot of meaning to me (maybe I show it off one day, or I might wait until I get it)

Also I enjoy fighting games as well! I enjoy a lot of Marvel vs Capcom 2 and SF 3rd Strike, and I made my start under the tag "CriticaL" when I was playing Super Smash Bros. competitively, (despite actually getting that tag from playing competitive Pokemon VGC back in the day.) and I also went to EVO 2016 and went 2-2 in pools.

Anyways I hope you enjoy your stay on this forum, and I hope you can get used to using a forum so you can hopefully be more active! Just think of it as a group of friends who talk about all of this sort of stuff as well as whatever we want to really.

Greetings, Orson Welles here.

Polish guy living in Germany, mod on both the Yakuza Fan and Subsidiary of the Tojo Clan Discords. Started playing Yakuza about 3 years ago (can't believe so much time already passed) with 4, played almost every installment in the series until today, currently working my way through Kurohyou 1. It is an honor to make your acquaintance.
