Why do you like Yakuza?
14/2/2018, 3:42 pm
I'm making a series of threads in the New Members section, since it's empty other than the introduction thread.
Making question threads that are easy to interact with and have something to add to.
So simply for the first thread I ask:
I am sure everyone has their own reasons, personally I love Yakuza because of it's wild tonality and fun, fast-paced, and creative, gameplay that a lot of games struggle to have. I would like to hear all of your reasons too!

I like Yakuza because of everything it has to offer. It's one big Game that has many little Games in it and it works!
I played Final Fantasy and thought: "Could need funnier Sidecontent but the Story is awesome",
I played Metroid (every entrie to be true) and thought "The atmosphere is awesome but it's kinda short and could need some more Story told in the game",
I played Dead or Alive and thought "The best beat em up I ever played but I wish I could freely explore the area with my favourite Character"
I played Ninja Gaiden and thought "That's some great action but the Story could need some more polishment"
I could make this list longer but it's enough to say: Everything these games don't have is bound together in one game series. Yakuza. I don't say the mentioned games are bad, I really
love them all, they are all unique in it's own way but Yakuza feels like the ultimate package.
That's my reason why I like Yakuza so much.

The words "story" and "Metroid" make me shiver. Reminds me of Other M.

Please don't mention Other M, it wasn't good by any means. But with Metroid Prime 4 releasing sometime in the future I hope they don't screw the Idea of having Cutscenes completely. I like a talking Samus but she needs a better personality this time. Other M is still better then Metroid Prime Federation Force but all this "I didn't authorized the use of Varia inside a Volcano", "Oh it's Ridley Nr.8 I'm afraid", Bad controls and much more.... make it a bad. I really like to talk about Metroid as well but we should keep it on topic for now :D

Federation Force is better in Gameplay but the used Chibi Style and Blast Ball minigame are bad choices. Other M used a better Style and setting but the areas in general are boring, the story has plotholes, controls don't work properly and Adam is just.... he's Adam nobody likes him.
Back to topic: I also like Yakuza because it sticks to it's roots. Even so every game continues to evolve the Yakuza formula it still feels like a Yakuza game. That's something I can't say for Final Fantasy for example. I like both FF10 and FF15 but besides Chocobos and some names they don't share anything at all. Everyone expects something from his favourite Series and if they just change everything they could also rename it completely.

Well, I love everything about the Yakuza games. Graphically iy' s very beautiful. You really have the feeling to travel in Japan! The storyline is captivating and the characters are lovable. It was a long time I didn't get emotional. Kazuma and Goro are very inspiring. The soundtracks are awesome! I enjoyed every music in every games.

Ryo Hazuki: Hey, do you guys know where sailors might hang out?
Goro Majima: Damn, son, you never shut up about sailors, do you.
Kazuma Kiryu: Kids these days have strange obsessions. I don't get it.
